Before I started going to see Sue I was a complete mess and I could feel myself “caving in” and I felt I couldn’t do every day things because I was useless. Back before everything happened I thought I could control my emotions and life ran kinda smoothly, but things happened in my life that made me feel I couldn’t handle anything. Everything was my fault and my emotions felt completely different and very strong which soon turned into panic attacks which would hit anytime. My mum’s friend suggested I should go see Sue and go private. I was a bit reluctant to go because I had such a bad experience with the NHS and it took a few more weeks before I booked a phone call to speak to Sue.
That phone call started the healing process by me then going for counselling sessions. When I started with Sue I was on the shock stage (coping with change chart) so Sue has helped me with the whole process going through: Shock-Euphoria-Searching-Anger-Guilt-Self Doubt-Depression-Gradual Acceptance- Letting Go- Transition. Through out this whole time sue has supported me and given me ideas to help me through out the whole journey, the techniques she has given me has meant that by me going home and working on them myself and then getting back to her on how I got on in case an idea didn’t work for me she would come up with another one. We would also talk about any of the feelings I had both positive and negative which would also help getting out of the thinking traps.
From both Sue and myself working as a team I can now control my own emotions more and I feel ten times lighter I literally feel like I’m flying up into space because I am actually feeling happy not just putting on a front. I can enjoy life thanks to Sue being such and awesome person and counsellor. If you’re thinking you may need to see someone I would highly recommend Sue she is literally a wonder women working miracles who will be with you every step of the way, she even leaves the door open just in case you may need to talk to her, she never said “you don’t need to see me anymore that’s it.” There’s never a full stop to end it just a pause
